eLinear announces complettion of the sale of Kila security
solution ... Business Wire - Nov. 3, 2003 (press
release)
eLinear, Inc. today announced the completion of
sale of the kila security solution to one of its client in Denver,
CO, a multinational company with $400 million in
revenues.
Kila security solution has been purchased by this
company for their enterprise applications. Initial implementation of
the solution will provide a single sign-on for one of their
executive reporting dashboard application that is used by high level
executives to view sensitive business data. Our client required a
solution that would work with Bea Weblogic's security framework and
will provide a single sign-on from user desktop. This solution will
enable the users to directly enter the application, once they are
logged into the network on the workstation/desktop. Kila solution
automatically uses the security credentials from the desktop and
authenticates/authorizes the user against the corporate Microsoft
Active Directory and communicates with the Bea weblogic security
framework on a unix environment.
Pratyoosh Gupta, consulting
principal and architect, stated, "Security is on everybody's mind
these days. Kila security solution solved a key user and technical
requirement for our client. Our client's technical team evaluated
several products in the market and found that our solution was the
best in terms of a well architected solution for the future with a
solid foundation. We clearly demonstrated eLinear's depth of
knowledge and expertise on securing web applications in a
corporation keeping in mind the usability aspect as
well".

eLinear Enters Into an Exclusive North American Sales &
Marketing ... Business Wire - Oct. 26, 2003 (press
release)
eLinear, Inc. announced today the signing of a
partnership with Birap Consulting, Inc. to market and resell their
enterprise Java/J2EE web application security solution known as Kila
security solution.
Kila security solution solves common
problems such as single sign-on from user desktop into the java web
applications through a secure communication using kerberos protocol.
It enables the java applications to securely authenticate users
against Microsoft's Active Directory without sending user's password
over the network. This solution uses cutting edge Java technologies
such as Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS) from
Sun Microsystems to truly provide an integrated solution for
securing web applications running on J2EE application servers and
provide authentication and authorization against the Microsoft
Active Directory. A similar solution was earlier architected and
implemented by eLinear at another oil and gas based corporation for
their enterprise Java/J2EE applications and Peoplesoft portal. This
solution can be easily implemented to enable security on products
like portals (e.g., Peoplesoft, Bea) and J2EE application servers
(Bea Weblogic, IBM Websphere).
Pratyoosh Gupta, consulting
principal at eLinear, stated, "We are excited to be able to extend
such a security solution to our clients. I have noticed during my
engagement with clients over the years that application security
integration does not always get full attention due to lack of
expertise and resources. With the corporate security perimeter
becoming more vulnerable everyday, it is becoming very important to
pay more attention to application security. Kila security solution
takes the java web application security to the next level through
tight integration between the application server and directory
services such as Active Directory from Microsoft
".
